Best of 2015

Estou de volta! O ano 2015 foi sem dúvida um ano cheio de emoções e novas aventuras. Como ficaram a saber no último post aqui, o meu sonho tornou-se realidade e estive durante 7 semanas em Frankfurt em formação. Realmente não havia melhor forma de terminar este ano. Além de ter aprendido muito, conheci pessoas maravilhosas e tive experiências que nunca pensei vir a ter aos 22 anos. Mas irei mostrar-vos mais sobre isso no próximo ano.
I'm back! 2015 was definitely a year full of emotions and new adventures. As you might already know by the last post here, my dream came true and I was in Frankfurt for 7 weeks training. Really there was no better way to finish off this year. Besides learning a lot, I met wonderful people and I had experiences I never thought were possible at 22. But I'll show you more about it next year.

Como 2015 foi um ano tão especial, decidi fazer uma retrospectiva com os 10 melhores posts deste ano que passou. Da minha parte espero que o vosso ano 2016 seja ainda melhor do que este que passou, que consigam concretizar os vossos sonhos e que sejam muito felizes! Não desistam dos vossos objectivos, só com esforço e dedicação é que os conseguem alcançar. Ah, e com um sorriso :)
2015 was such a special year, so I decided to look back and I chose the top 10 from all the blog posts from this year. From my side I only wish your 2016 is better than 2015, that you are able to accomplish your dreams and that you guys are very happy! O último post que escrevi com um sorriso de orelha a orelha, a contar-vos sobre o início da minha carreira na aviação e a razão por estar 7 semanas fora. Obrigado pelo apoio e compreensão. A partir de agora só pode ser ainda melhor!

The last post I wrote with the biggest smile possible, telling you about the beginning of my carreer in aviation and the reason for being away for 7 weeks. Thank you for your support and understanding. From now on it can only be better!

BIG NEWS!

Às vezes ainda é difícil acreditar que isto me está a acontecer, mas depois belisco-me e percebo que é a realidade. Para quem não sabe, eu terminei a minha licenciatura em Tradução o ano passado e comecei de imediato a fazer vários estágios profissionais e a trabalhar. Porém, o bichinho esteve sempre lá... o bichinho de voar, de aprender, de conhecer. A vontade e o sonho de ser Assistente de Bordo só se foi desenvolvendo cada vez mais ao longo destes últimos anos e a vontade de viajar também (Paris, Roma e Londres foram algumas das viagens que fiz nestes últimos anos com o meu namorado e que só me aumentaram ainda mais a curiosidade). 
Sometimes it's still hard to believe that something like this is really happening, but then I pinch myself and I understand it's reality. For those who don't know, I finished my degree in Translation last year and I immediately started to attend several internships and started working. However, it was always there... the wish to fly, to learn, to know more and more. The will and the dream of becoming a Flight Attendant only grew more and more this last couple of years and so did the will to travel (Paris, Rome and London were some of the trips me and my boyfriend did this last couple of years and they only increased even more my curiosity.)

Eu sempre acreditei que se não formos atrás do que queremos não vamos conseguir alcançar os nossos objectivos, porque ninguém pode realizar os nossos sonhos por nós nem ser feliz por nós. A minha carreira profissional é algo muito importante para mim, e se estiver feliz no meu local de trabalho, isso irá reflectir-se em tudo o resto.
I've always believed that if we don't go after what we want we're not going to reach our goals, because no one can accomplish our dreams for us or be happy for us. My carreer is something very important for me, and if I'm happy where I'm working at the moment, that will be reflected in everything else.

Por isso, depois de muita pesquisa e de muitas tentativas, finalmente vou concretizar o meu sonho. Vou ser Assistente de Bordo para a Privatair com base na Arábia Saudita. Virei muitas vezes a Portugal, pois Lisboa é e será sempre a minha casa. Não há forma de agradecer a toda a minha família e aos meus amigos mais próximos por todo o apoio que me têm dado. Quando vamos dar um passo tão grande na nossa vida é muito importante ter o apoio deles a 100% e isso tem-me ajudado muito nesta fase. 
So, after a lot of research and several tries, I'll finally accomplish my dream. I'll be a Flight Attendant for Privatair based in Saudi Arabia (KSA). I'll be coming to Portugal several times, because Lisbon is and will always be my home. There's no way to thank my family and my closest friends for all the support they have been giving me. When we're about to give such a big step in our life, it's very important to have their absolute support and that has been helping me a lot during this stage.

Por outro lado adorava contar com o apoio dos meus leitores também, pois o blog não vai acabar e, muito pelo contrário, só vai tornar-se ainda mais especial. Vou ter conteúdo novo e diferente do habitual para vos mostrar, a rubrica de maquilhagem da Joana vai continuar quando possível e embora possam existir menos posts, eles vão continuar a surgir de vez em quando para eu vos mostrar todas as minhas aventuras e por onde ando. 
On the other hand I would love to have the support of my readers, because the blog is not going to end and, on the contrary, it will only become more special. I'll have new content, different from usual, the makeup rubric by Joana will continue when possible and although there will be less posts, they will continue to appear once in a while in which I'll show you all my adventures and where I'm going.

What's coming... Fall/Winter 2015-2016 Accessories

Estamos quase no final deste nosso resumo de tendências da próxima estação, e hoje quero falar-vos dos acessórios que marcaram mais as passarelas durante as Semanas da Moda. O que pretendo com isto é mostrar-vos especialmente as tendências mais usáveis e, espero eu, inspirar-vos a saírem um bocadinho da vossa zona de conforto, adequando as tendências às diferentes ocasiões. Eu adoro juntar acessórios aos meus looks. Adoro brincos, colares, lenços, pulseiras, tudo o que o torne mais interessante e especial! Por isso, e sem mais demoras, vamos então conhecer as tendências de acessórios que mais vão marcar o Outono/Inverno.

We're almost finishing this rundown with the next season trends, and today I want to tell you about the accessories that were presented on the runways during fashion weeks. What I really want is to show you the more wearable trends and, I hope, inspire you to get out of your comfort zone, adapting these trends to different occasions. I love adding accessories to my looks. I love earrings, necklaces, scarves, bracelets, everything that makes my looks more interesting and special! For that reason, let's get to know the trends that will leave the biggest mark this Fall and Winter.

Chokers 

As famosas gargantilhas, conhecidas dos tempos de escravidão, voltaram e estão a dar que falar. Porém, é preciso alguma coragem e ousadia para as usar. Há de todos os tamanhos e feitios, e também feitas nos mais diversos materiais, desde metal, pele ou cristal. 

The famous chokers, known from slavery times, are back and are really fashionable. Although, it takes courage and boldness to wear them. They have several sizes and shapes, and also several materials, such as metal, leather or crystal.

Statement necklaces

Os colares querem-se grandes! Para esta estação, os estilistas deram asas à imaginação no que toca a colares e temos de tudo. Temos aves, flores gigantes, pedras, correntes, motivos abstractos, enfim, é só encontrá-los à venda e adequá-los aos nossos looks, que de certeza que se vão tornar muito mais divertidos.

Necklaces have to be big! This season, stylists worked their imagination when it has to do with necklaces, and there is a little bit of everything. We have birds, giant flowers, stones, chains, abstract motifs, you just have to find them and suit them to your looks, because I'm sure they will become so much funnier.

Single statement earrings

 

Não são apenas os colares que são grandes. Também os brincos se querem vistosos e espampanantes. Mas este ano há uma pequena diferença. São usados apenas numa orelha e preferencialmente com o cabelo preso, de forma a ficar bem à vista.

Necklaces aren't the only thing that have to be big this season. Earrings are also showy and daring. But this year there is a small difference. They are used in one hear only and preferably with the hair up, so they can be at sight.

Geometric

Esta tendência está bem evidenciada nos brincos e pulseiras. A tendência geométrica vai ser um must nesta estação, com formas 3D, bolas, triângulos e discos ovais. O que interessa é que sejam grandes e vistosos.

This trend is very present in earrings and bracelets. The geometric trend will be a must this season, with 3D shapes, balls, triangles and oval discs. They just have to be big and daring.

Pearls

 

Esta tendência junta o clássico do passado com a modernidade do presente. As pérolas são clean, sofisticadas, clássicas e ao mesmo tempo modernas. Os estilistas mostraram-nos como se podem usar as pérolas da forma mais incrível possível, em brincos, colares, aneis e até bandoletes.

This trend joins the classic from the past with the modern from the present. Pearls are clean, sophisticated, classic and at the same time modern. Stylists have shown us how to use pearls in the most amazing way possible, in earrings, necklaces, rings and even headbands.

Cuffs

 

As cuffs são pulseiras grandes que tornam qualquer look muito mais interessante. Neste Outono/Inverno é tudo o que queremos usar nos nossos pulsos, seja de que material for. Há em pele, em pêlo, com franjas, com cristais e até com flores, variedade não vai faltar.  

Cuffs are big bracelets that make any look much more interesting. This Fall and Winter is all we want in our wrists, in any material. There are ones in leather, fur, with fringes, crystals and even flowers, so much variety.

Brooches are back

 

Há muitos anos associávamos os broches às nossas avós e às nossas mães, mas hoje em dia essa visão mudou e podemos usá-los sem parecermos antiquadas. Principalmente usados na zona do peito, chamam imediatamente a atenção aos nossos olhos. Podem ser usados para complementar um casaco, um vestido ou simplesmente uma blusa. 

Several years ago we used to associate brooches to our grandmas or to our mothers, but today that vision has changed and we can wear them without looking old-fashioned. Specially used in the chest area, they immediately call our attention. They can be used to complement a jacket, a dress or just a simple blouse.

Fringes...

Vimo-las em roupa, nos sapatos e nas malas, e agora claro que tinham de estar presentes nos acessórios também. As franjas levam-nos imediatamente até aos anos 70, e surgem nos colares, nos brincos e até em pulseiras. Vão aderir a esta tendência que está por todo o lado?

We saw them in clothing, shoes and bags, and now of course they have to be present in accessories as well. Fringes immediately take us back to the 70s, and they are in necklaces, earrings and even in bracelets. Are you going to join this trend that is all over the place?

Fur stoles

 

As estolas de pêlo sempre foram sinal de elegância e sofisticação numa mulher. Este ano voltaram em força e foram usados pelas modelos de uma forma peculiar, caídos sobre o tronco e presos com um cinto na cintura. Mas não se prendam por causa disso, podem também ser usados enrolados ao pescoço ou simplesmente caidos. Em castanho, preto, cinzento, existem em todas as cores e todos os tamanhos, o importante é mantermo-nos quentes, mas sempre com estilo claro. 

Fur stoles are always a sign of elegance and sophistication in a woman. This year they are back and they were used by the models in a very peculiar way, falling on the torso and stuck with a belt around the waist. But don't stick to that, they can be used around the neck or simply falling down. Brown, black, gray, there are several colors and sizes to choose from, the important thing is to keep warm, but always stylish.

Big belts

 

Os cintos foram esquecidos durante algum tempo, mas esta estação voltaram e desta vez em tamanhos grandes e volumosos! Ao usar um cinto deste género não é preciso juntar quase mais nada em termos de acessórios. Além de tornarem a silhueta mais elegante e a cintura mais fina, ajudam a manter a proporção e atribuem informação suficiente a um look.
Belts were forgotten for a long time, but this season they are back and this time in big voluminous sizes! When wearing a belt like that you don't need to add anything else considering accessories. Besides making our silhouette so much more elegant and our waist so much thinner, they help to maintain proportion and give enough information to a look.

Headbands

 

Lembro-me que quando era pequenina adorava usar fitas e bandoletes. Agora podemos voltar a usá-las! Yey! Além de tirarem o cabelo da cara, dão-nos um ar feminino e abonecado e deixam que a atenção fique focada no nosso rosto a descoberto e principalmente nos nossos olhos. Foram apresentadas bandoletes em cetim, seda, pele e adornadas com flores, broches e todo o tipo de jóias.

I remember that when I was little I loved to use headbands. Now we can use them again! Yey! Besides removing the hair from our face, they give us such a feminine and dolly look and bring all the attention to our eyes. They were presented in satin, silk, leather and adorned with flowers, brooches and all kinds of jewels.
