As inspirações de hoje levam-nos todas até ao mundo da moda. Desde capas de revistas, a editoriais e ideias inovadoras para pôr em prática, trago-vos de tudo um pouco. Estou de partida para o Norte para passar o fim-de-semana antes de embarcar novamente para a Arábia Saudita, mas antes de ir embora tinha de vos deixar com o que me fez sorrir esta semana, por isso aqui vai :)

10 THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY!

Depois de ver este vídeo da Victoria do In The Frow, lembrei-me de fazer a minha versão escrita das 10 coisas que me fazem feliz. Nem sempre tenho a oportunidade de falar de assuntos mais pessoais aqui no blog, mas acredito que é uma forma de estar mais perto dos meus leitores e de poder partilhar mais sobre mim. Prometo que vou tentar não me alongar demasiado para o post não ficar muito longo. Posto isto, aqui ficam 10 coisas que me fazem feliz :)

After watching this video by Victoria from In The Frow, I remembered I should do my own written version with the 10 things that make me happy. I don't have the chance to speak about more personal matters very often here on the blog, but I believe it's a way of being closer to my readers and that way I can share more about myself. I promise I will try to keep it short so the post doesn't get too long. So having said that, here are the 10 things that make me happy :)

Sun

A sensação de acordar de manhã, abrir a janela e ver o céu limpo e o sol a brilhar. Fico mais feliz e mais bem-disposta, com vontade de enfrentar um novo dia cheia de vontade e energia. Uma ida à praia, um passeio pelo parque, um almoço numa esplanada, qualquer momento se torna mais especial se o sol nos fizer companhia.
The feeling of waking up in the morning, opening up the window and see a clear sky with the sun shining. I get happier and with a good mood, with the strenght to face a new day full of energy. Going to the beach, a walk in the park, having lunch outdoors, any moment becomes more special if the sun comes out to make us some company. 

Ballet

 

Aprender ballet. Embora esteja no início e só esteja a ter aulas desde o início deste ano, nada me deixa mais satisfeita do que depois de uma aula sentir que alcancei mais uma meta. Podem ler mais sobre as minhas aulas aqui.
Learning ballet. Although I'm still in the beginning and I only have classes since the beginning of the year, nothing leaves me more satisfied than after a class feeling that I accomplished another goal. You can read more about my classes here.

Traveling

Conhecer e descobrir o mundo. Viajar agora faz parte do meu dia-a-dia, pois enquanto estou a trabalhar estou inevitavelmente a viajar ao mesmo tempo, e neste momento não trocaria o meu escritório por nada! Seja a trabalhar ou não, viajar para mim significa liberdade e conhecimento, algo que devíamos sempre ambicionar na nossa vida.
Discovering the world. Traveling is now part of my days, because while I'm working I'm also inevitably traveling at the same time, and right now I wouldn't change my office for nothing! Whether it's working or not, traveling to me means freedom and knowledge, something we should always aspire in our life.

Writing

Escrever sobre o que me inspira. Escrever no blog tornou-se uma terapia na minha vida. Poder partilhar com os meus leitores as minhas paixões, as minhas aventuras, as minhas descobertas e os meus objectivos é como partilhar com um grupo de amigas o que me vai na alma. Saber que ajudei alguém ao dar a minha opinião sincera sobre um produto ou que inspirei alguém a fazer algo na sua vida significa muito para mim, principalmente quando passo tantas horas a tentar descobrir as palavras certas e as imagens adequadas de forma a passar a mensagem correcta e em que realmente acredito.
Writing about the things that inspire me. Writing on the blog has become a therapy in my life. Being able to share with my readers my passions, my adventures, my discoveries and my goals is like sharing with a group of friends what goes on my mind. Knowing that I helped someone by giving my honest opinion about a product or that I inspired someone to do something in their lives means a lot to me, especially when I spend so many hours trying to find out the right words and the right pictures so I can spread the correct message and in which I really believe.

Shopping

Comprar um novo par de sapatos, uma mala nova ou aquele casaco que assenta que nem uma luva. Pode parecer fútil para algumas pessoas, mas para mim tirar uma tarde inteira para ir às compras, percorrer as minhas lojas preferidas à procura daquela mala perfeita, ou daqueles sapatos lindos de morrer, faz-me feliz. Por várias razões, mas principalmente porque me sinto bem em saber que mereço todas essas coisas bonitas e caras, depois de trabalhar tanto para as poder comprar.
Buying a new pair of shoes, a new bag or that coat that fits like a glove. It may seem shallow for some people, but for me being able to take an afternoon off to go shopping, go to all my favorite stores looking for that perfect bag, or those beautiful shoes, makes me happy. For several reasons, but mainly because I feel good knowing that I deserve all those beautiful and expensive things, after working so much so I can buy them in the end.

Good food

Uma boa refeição que me deixa satisfeita durante horas. Aquele prato delicioso que a minha mãe cozinha ao fim-de-semana ou um almoço saudável com as amigas, momentos que podiam ser banais na nossa vida mas que ficam marcados por um prato maravilhoso que nos faz chorar por mais.
A good meal that leaves me satisfied for hours. That delicious meal that my mom cooks on the weekend or a healthy lunch with the girls, moments that could be ordinary but become special because of an amazing meal that makes us cry for more.

Organizing

Ter a sensação de que tudo está organizado e que consegui fazer tudo o que tinha planeado para o meu dia. Eu ainda sou daquelas pessoas que usa agendas tradicionais em papel. Não há nada como apontar na agenda todos os meus planos, organizar o meu dia e chegar ao fim e saber que nada ficou por fazer. Além disso, quem me conhece sabe que sou muito organizada em tudo, por isso desarrumação não funciona comigo e gosto de saber que tudo está no seu devido lugar.
Having the feeling that everything is organized and that I managed to do everything I had planned for my day. I'm still one of those people that use the traditional paper diary. There's nothing like writing on my diary all my plans, organizing my day and getting to the end of the day and know that nothing was left undone. Besides, the ones who know me know how organized I am, so I don't like untidiness and I like to know that everything is right where it needs to be. 

Freedom

Liberdade. Até ir trabalhar para a Arábia Saudita não tinha noção do que a falta de liberdade nos pode fazer, quando crescemos tendo-a sempre como garantida. O simples facto de não poder sair à rua sem estar a usar uma abaya e um lenço, não poder agarrar no carro ou apanhar o metro e ir ao centro comercial sozinha, não poder cumprimentar os meus colegas. Coisas tão simples que ultimamente me fizeram agradecer ainda mais pelo que eu tomava como garantido no meu país, e que agora sempre que estou em casa aproveito ao máximo.
Freedom. Until I started working in Saudi I hadn't realized what the lack of freedom can do to us, as we grow taking it for granted. The simple fact of not being able to go outside without an abaya and a scarf, not being able to get in the car or go to the subway and go to the mall by myself, not being able to greet my colleagues like we are used to. Small things that lately have made me appreciate even more what I used to take for granted in my country, and that now when I'm home I appreciate to the maximum.

Me time

Chegar a casa, tirar a maquilhagem, prender o cabelo, vestir o pijama, fazer uma máscara de rosto, beber um chá e não pensar em mais nada a não ser em mim por uns momentos. Ler um livro, ver um filme ou uma série, ouvir música e passear pela internet, coisas básicas que me ajudam a esquecer os problemas por um pouco e a relaxar completamente.
Getting home, taking off all the makeup, pulling the hair up, getting into my pjs, doing a face mask, drinking some tea and don't think about anything else but myself for a little bit. Reading a book, watching a movie or a tv show, listening to some music and go online, basic stuff that help me to unwind for a little bit and to relax completely.

Friends & Family

 

 

 

 

Os meus amigos e a minha família. Agora a trabalhar longe, se há algo que me faz sentir mais concretizada e agradecida na minha vida é poder falar e passar tempo com as pessoas mais importantes para mim. Saber que quando volto a casa, eles estarão lá à minha espera, mas saber também que quando estou longe estão sempre presentes através de uma chamada de skype ou uma conversa no What's App.
My friends and family. Nowadays working away from home, if there is something that leaves me so grateful in my life is being able to speak and spend time with the most important people in my life. Knowing that when I get home, they'll be there waiting for me, but also knowing that when I'm away they're always present through a skype call or a conversation in What's App.

Espero que tenham gostado do post de hoje, um pouco diferente do habitual, mas algo que eu gostaria de fazer mais vezes se vocês gostarem da ideia.
