Estamos de volta a mais uma semana! Para alguns é o regresso ao trabalho, para outros o início das aulas, em ambos os casos espero que entrem com o pé direito.

We're back to another week! For some it's time to go back to work, for others is the beginning of a new year at school, whatever is your case, I hope you start with the right foot.

Hoje venho falar-vos sobre uma nova técnica de maquilhagem que anda a apaixonar o mundo: Strobing! Strobing é uma técnica para evidenciar o rosto. Apesar de ser comparada ao contorno, nada tem a ver, pois esta nova técnica é efectuada apenas com iluminador. Este é o único produto que precisamos para efectuar o strobing.

Today I want to talk about a new makeup technique that is fascinating the entire world: Strobing! Strobing is a technique to highlight the face. Although compared to contouring, it has nothing to do with it, since this new technique only uses illuminator. This is the only product that we need for strobing.

Ganhou fama no Brasil, devido às altas temperaturas do país, pois as mulheres têm tendência a usar menos maquilhagem, para que esta não derreta. Mas mesmo assim queremos estar sempre no nosso melhor. Daí começarem a utilizar o Strobing, pois é fácil de efectuar e apenas necessitamos de um produto. Podendo ou não optar por preparar a pele.

It started in Brazil due to the high temperatures of the country, because women tend to use less makeup, so it doesn’t melt. But we always want to look our best. So they began this new technique, it’s easy to make and we just need one product. Whether or not you choose to prepare the skin.

Strobing consiste na aplicação de iluminador nas zonas do rosto que queremos evidenciar. Pode ser feito apenas com iluminador, directamente aplicado na pele, ou depois da preparação da mesma. Dando assim um brilho luxuoso ao rosto, evidenciando o bronzeado com um aspecto natural.

Strobing is the application of illuminator on the areas of our face that we want to highlight. It can be done only with the illuminator directly applied to the skin, or after the preparation of it. It gives a luxurious shine to our face, highlighting the tan and giving it a natural look.

Now I show you what are the main areas where the illuminator should be applied.

Comparado com o contorno, o Strobing é um método mais fácil, rápido e muito mais natural, pois o rosto é apenas evidenciado com iluminador.

Compared to contouring, Strobing is an easier, faster and more natural method, because the face is only highlighted with the illuminator.

Podem utilizar produtos em creme ou em pó. Eu prefiro os produtos em creme e depois finalizo sempre com um produto em pó, assim a maquilhagem dura mais tempo de forma intacta. Dou-vos agora alguns exemplos de produtos que gosto de utilizar.

You can use cream or powder products. I prefer cream products and then I always finalize with a powder product, so the makeup lasts longer and stays intact. Now I show you some of the products that I like to use.

O primeiro produto é o meu favorito! É um iluminador líquido da Nars, este é na cor Orgasm, mas têm muitos outros tons disponíveis.

The first product is my favorite! It’s a liquid illuminator by Nars, this is Orgasm, but they have many other colors available.

Por cima do iluminador líquido, gosto sempre de aplicar um pouco de iluminador em pó, para selar o produto e fazer com que dure mais. Este é o meu iluminador em pó favorito! É o Mary-Lou Manizer do The Balm!

On top of the liquid illuminator, I always like to apply some powder illuminator, to seal the product and make it last longer. This is my favorite powder illuminator! It's the Mary-Lou Manizer by The Balm!

Um produto monetariamente mais acessível é o Born To Glow da Nyx. É também um iluminador líquido, mas com um melhor preço do que o da Nars.

A more affordable product is the Born To Glow by Nyx. It’s also a liquid illuminator, but with a better price than the Nars one.

O último produto é algo mesmo muito acessível, é o Soo Glow da Essence. Um iluminador em creme, mas que depois de espalhado tem uma textura em pó. É óptimo para o Strobing, pois quando o utilizo não necessito de outro produto.

The last product is something really affordable, it's the Soo Glow by Essence. A cream illuminator, that after applied has a powder texture. It's great for Strobing, when I use it I don’t need another product.

Soft Focus Concealer by KIKO

Morning everyone!

Hoje venho falar-vos de um produto que comprei há uns meses quando andava à procura de um novo corrector de olheiras, mas que servisse também como iluminador. Numa visita à KIKO trouxe então o Soft Focus Concealer no tom 3 medium. O objectivo era que tivesse um tom um pouco mais claro do que a minha pele para iluminar e corrigir ao mesmo tempo.

Today I want to tell you about this product I bought a few months ago when I was looking for a new concealer, but that was also a highlighter. When I went to KIKO I bought the Soft Focus Concealer in 3 Medium. I wanted it to be a little bit lighter than my skin tone so it would highlight and conceal at the same time.

A embalagem é ideal. É uma caneta prateada que só deita a quantidade de produto que quisermos, carregando em baixo no doseador. Além disso, é prática, fininha, leve e fácil de levar na mala se for esse o caso. A aplicação do produto também é bastante fácil, é como se estivéssemos a usar um pincel. O produto em si tem uma fórmula bastante leve e confortável. A sua fórmula contém agentes de foco suaves, silicones voláteis e extrato de chá branco. Estes eliminam e "preenchem" as rugas, alisam a pele e têm propriedades anti-oxidantes e descongestionantes, o que é sempre bom para a nossa pele. 

The package is ideal. It's a silver pen that only releases the amount of product that we want, pressing the button on the bottom. Besides that, is very practical, slim, light and easy to bring in our bag if it's necessary. The application of the product is also very easy, it's like using a brush. The product itself has a light and comfortable formula. Its formula contains soft focus agents, special volatile silicones and white tea extract. These eliminate and "fill" the wrinkles, smooth the skin and have antioxidant and decongestant properties, which is always good for our skin.

Pude comprovar que realmente este produto não se fixa nas linhas debaixo dos olhos nem acentua as rugas, o que para mim é essencial neste tipo de produtos. Porém, este é mais um iluminador do que propriamente um corrector. Não tem uma cobertura muito grande, sendo necessário usar mais produto e gastando-o muito mais rapidamente (durou-me cerca de 1/2 meses, a utilizar todos os dias de manhã), mas ilumina muito o rosto. Custou-me 7,50€, sem qualquer promoção. Recomendo para quem esteja à procura de um iluminador prático e fácil de usar, mas para corrector apenas acho que existem produtos melhores no mercado. 

I was able to prove that this product actually doesn't crease under the eyes and it doesn't accentuate any wrinkles, which for me is essential in this type of products. However, this is more of a highlighter than a concealer. It doesn't have a very strong coverage, it's necessary to use more product and that way spend it way faster (it lasted me 1/2 months, using it every day in the morning), but it really highlights the face. It was 7,50€, with no promotion. I recommend it for those who are looking for a practical and easy to use highlighter, but as a concealer only I think there are better products out there.

Claro que esta é apenas a minha opinião sobre este produto em específico e continuo a ser uma fã incondicional da KIKO. Adorava saber se já experimentaram este produto :)

Of course this is just my opinion about this specific product and I'm still a huge fan of KIKO. I would love to know if you have already tried this product :)
