Um estudo recente comprovou que o uso de batom vermelho realça a feminilidade da mulher e aumenta o seu poder de sedução. Bom, a mim parece-me que esse estudo veio então confirmar o que nós todas já sabíamos. Quando usamos batom vermelho sentimo-nos automaticamente mais bonitas e confiantes. Além disso, o batom vermelho funciona também como um acessório, dando cor a qualquer look e tornando-o imediatamente mais interessante. Por coincidência, estamos na época da cor vermelha. Vemo-la na roupa e nas decorações de Natal, porque não também nos nossos lábios? Eu pessoalmente lembro-me de todos os Natais usar pelo menos um dia batom vermelho. Para mim é uma forma de entrar no espírito e dar aquele toque mais natalício à minha maquilhagem. Hoje em dia, uso batom vermelho todos os dias para o trabalho e como tal tenho experimentado algumas marcas diferentes e ficado com alguns favoritos. A recent study proved that the use of red lipstick enhances women femininity and increases their power of seduction. Well, to me it seems that that study arrived right on time to confirm what we all already knew. When we use red lipstick we feel automatically more beautiful and confident. Besides, red lipstick also works as an accessory, providing color to any look and making it immediately more interesting. By coincidence, this is also the season when we see this color everywhere. We see it on clothes and Christmas decor, why not on our lips too? I personally remember that every Christmas I used red lipstick at least in one of the days. To me it's a way of getting into the spirit and providing that Christmas touch to my makeup. Nowadays, I use red lipstick every day for work and as such I've been trying a few different brands and have been gathering a few favourites. Today I want to tell you about three lipsticks I used lately. If you want to know more about them then keep reading :)
Olhando para eles os três, o primeiro é o que chama mais a atenção pela sua embalagem. O batom Totally Kissable na cor Red Embrace da AVON foi o primeiro que eu experimentei entre estes três e gostei bastante. Ele oferece uma pigmentação fantástica e é muito macio e cremoso. Não sendo mate, não dura horas e horas nos lábios, mas ainda assim tem uma durabilidade bastante boa (caso não se coma ou beba nada de especial claro!) e é super fácil de aplicar. Embora seja lindíssimo, não funcionou para o que eu precisava (13 horas de trabalho seguidas com maquilhagem!), logo decidi que talvez um mate fosse o mais indicado para o meu caso e tive de ir à procura de outras opções.
By looking at them, the first is the one that grabs our attention because of its packaging. The AVON Totally Kissable in Red Embrace was the first one I tried from these three and I really liked it. It offers an amazing pigmentation and is very soft and creamy. Not being matte, it doesn't last hours and hours on the lips, but still its durability is pretty good (if you don't eat or drink nothing special of course!) and is super easy to apply. Although it's beautiful, it didn't work for what I needed (hello 13 hours of duty with makeup on!), so I decided that maybe a matte would be better for my case and I went looking for more options.
De seguida temos então o 6053H da gama da Sephora. Quando comprei este batom a senhora que me estava a atender na loja estava a usá-lo e imediatamente recomendou-o porque tinha as características de que eu estava à procura. Ser um verdadeiro vermelho, mate e com muito boa durabilidade. Pareceu-me bem. Arrisquei, trouxe-o para casa e ao fim de um dia a trabalhar com ele percebi que realmente ser mate fazia toda a diferença (com o da AVON tinha de estar hora a hora a retocar, principalmente depois de comer), e até depois de comer a necessidade de retocar não era tanta. O único problema que encontrei nele foi o facto de ele secar um pouco os lábios e ao fim de retocar duas ou três vezes começa a esfarelar um pouco e isso nota-se bastante ao fim de um dia longo.
Next we have the 6053H from Sephora. When I bought this lipstick the lady that was helping me in the store was using it and immediately recommended it to me because it had all the characteristics I was looking for. To be a true red, mate and with a very good durability. It seemed good to me. I took a risk, brought it home and in the end of one day of work wearing it I realized that being matte was making all the difference (with the AVON lipstick I had to retouch every hour, specially after eating), and even after eating the need to retouch it was not a lot. The only problem I found with this one was the fact that it dried my lips a little bit and after retouching it two or three times it started to crumble and after a long day that is very noticeable.
Depois de duas tentativas, e quando o da Sephora terminou, decidi experimentar outra marca com esperança de encontrar o batom vermelho perfeito. Dirigi-me então à MAC e trouxe para casa o batom clássico e mate da marca, o Russian Red. E se os outros dois eram bons, então agora eu estava no céu! 13 horas de trabalho com comida e MUITA bebida pela meio e o Russian Red não borra, não esfarela e não seca os lábios. E é aquele vermelho perfeito! É super fácil de aplicar, sendo cremoso ao início e ficando completamente mate após uns segundos. Posso comer e beber à vontade sem precisar de retocar, embora o faça por escolha, e sei que durante um dia inteiro não me vai deixar ficar mal.
After two attempts, and when the Sephora one was over, I decided to try a different brand hoping to find the perfect red lipstick. I went to MAC and I brought home the classic mate lipstick from the brand, the Russian Red. And if the others were nice, now I was in lipstick heaven! 13 hours of duty with food, LOTS of drinks in between and the Russian Red was not smudging, crumbling or drying my lips. And it's that perfect red! It's super easy to apply, being creamy at first and getting totally mate after a few seconds. I can eat and drink as I wish without the need to retouch it, although I do it by choice, and I know that after a long day it will still look good.
E pelos vistos já é popular, porque não sou a única a usá-lo :)

Apesar de serem todos muito bons, na minha opinião servem para ocasiões diferentes. Por exemplo, o batom da AVON continuo a usá-lo para ocasiões em que estou menos horas com ele e que não exista problema caso ele saia. Já o Russian Red junta todas as características que eu procurava e é perfeito para trabalhar, logo já não sai da minha bolsa de maquilhagem e assim que terminar tenho a certeza de que vou comprar um igual.
Although they are all very nice, in my opinion they are good for different occasions. For example, the one by AVON I keep using for occasions that I have to use it for less hours and if there's no problem in case it starts disappearing. Now the Russian Red gathers all the characteristics I was looking for and is perfect for work, so now it doesn't leave my makeup bag anymore and as soon as I run out of it I'm sure I'll get a new one.
Algo que ajuda muito na durabilidade do batom, e que a nossa Joana está sempre a frisar, é usar lápis de lábios por baixo. O que eu uso sempre é o 706 Smart Lip Pencil da Kiko e ajuda imenso!
Something that really helps with any lipstick, and our dear Joana is always telling us, is to use a lip pencil underneath. The one I always use is the 706 Smart Lip Pencil by Kiko and it really does help!
