Morning everyone!

Como foi o vosso fim-de-semana? Com certeza que ouviram falar imenso do Portugal Fashion que decorreu de 26 a 29 de Março. Como uma pessoa que adora moda não consegui resistir e fui pesquisar sobre o que se passou no evento, principalmente sobre o que se viu nas passereles para o próximo Outono/Inverno. Vamos espreitar?

How was your weekend? I'm sure you have heard a lot about the Portugal Fashion that occurred from 26 to 29 of March in Lisbon and in Porto. As a person that loves fashion I couldn't resist and I went search about what happened, especially about what was seen on the runways for the next Fall/Winter. Let's take a look?

Depois da Moda Lisboa, foram vistos mais uma vez no Portugal Fashion muitos casacos XXL, muita cor (a maior parte das vezes em looks totais em azul, vermelho, branco e preto), botas acima do joelho e tecidos de muita qualidade. O próximo Outono/Inverno vai ser muito quentinho mas muito colorido e elegante, em que as saias curtas e os vestidos compridos também fazem parte da indumentária. 

After Moda Lisboa, in Portugal Fashion were seen once again XXL jackets, a lot of color (most of the times in total looks in blue, red, white and black), high-knee boots and high quality fabrics. The next Fall/Winter will be very warm but very colorful and elegant, in which short skirts and long dresses are part of the outfit too.

Hi everyone!

Sexta-feira houve noite de cinema. Já não ia ao cinema há um tempinho e soube mesmo bem! Fomos ver o Capitão América: O Soldado do Inverno e como eu sempre digo, a Marvel não nos desilude. Mais um grande filme, com um grande elenco, história e excelentes efeitos. Se gostam da Marvel e dos seus heróis, vão ver o Capitão América!

It was movie night on Friday. I hadn't went to the theaters in some time and it felt really good! We went to see Captain America: The Winter Soldier and like I always say, Marvel never disappoints us. Another great movie, with a great plot, history and excellent effects. If you like Marvel and its heroes, go see Captain America!

 Depois de Os Vingadores, Steve Rogers (O Capitão América) está a viver em Washington D.C. e a tentar ajustar-se ao mundo moderno. Mas quando a S.H.I.E.L.D está sob ataque, Steve vai ter de se envolver de forma a salvar o mundo mais uma vez. Para isso vai unir-se à Viúva Negra e vai lutar para desmascarar a conspiração que é cada vez maior. No meio desta trama de vilões e assassinos profissionais, eles vão-se deparar com um inimigo inesperado e formidável, o Soldado do Inverno.

After The Avengers, Steve Rogers (Captain America) is living in Washington D.C. and is trying to fit in in the modern world. But when S.H.I.E.L.D is under attack, Steve will have to save the world once again. To do that he'll join the Black Widow and will fight to unveil the growing conspiracy. In the middle of this villains and professional killers plot, they will find an unexpected and amazing enemy, The Winter Soldier.

10 blushes palette from Lojinha da Janina

Como foi a vossa semana? O post de hoje já vem mais tarde do que o costume mas tenho uma grande razão. Ontem foi o concerto da Beyoncé e entre tanta chuva, tanta dança e emoção cheguei a casa completamente morta, por isso hoje mereço ficar em casa a descansar ahah. Mas tudo valeu a pena, o concerto foi espectacular e até tivemos o privilégio de o Jay-Z nos fazer a grande surpresa de aparecer e cantar Drunk in Love com ela. Não podia ter pedido mais! Foi assim o final da grande Mrs Carter World Tour.
How was your week? Today's post is coming a little bit later than usual but I have a very good reason. Yesterday I went to Beyoncé's show and among so much rain, dancing and emotion I got home literally dead, so today I deserve to stay home resting ahah. But it was all worth it, the show was amazing and we even had the privilege of Jay-Z making the surprise appearance and sing Drunk in Love with her. I couldn't have asked for more! And that was the end of the great Mrs. Carter World Tour.

Mas então vamos lá ao post de hoje. Hoje decidi vir falar-vos de uma paleta de blushes que eu comprei há uns tempos na Lojinha da Janina (aqui). A paleta custou à volta dos 10 euros, chegou rapidissimo e valeu muito a pena, uso quase todos os dias. Como eu sei que vocês andam sempre à procura de maquilhagem a preços baixos e com qualidade achei que tinha mesmo de vos falar desta paleta. Vamos lá conhecê-la então. 

But let's go to today's post. Today I decided to talk about a blushes pallet that I bought some time ago in Lojinha da Janina (here). The pallet was around 10 euros, it arrived very fast and it was totally worth it, I use it almost every day. Because I know that you are always looking for cheap makeup but with some quality I thought I really had to talk about this pallet. Let's get to know it then.

A paleta tem 10 blushes, 5 em tons rosas e 5 em tons alaranjados. Todas as cores são muito pigmentadas e basta colocar um pouco no pincel e espalhar suavemente na pele que imediatamente se notam as cores. Como podem ver o primeiro tom já está quase no fim pois eu utilizo-o quase todos os dias. Os tons alaranjados ainda não usei muito pois estou a guardá-los para o Verão, quando já estiver mais morena, mas os rosas ficaram lindos mesmo no Inverno, tendo chegado a misturar alguns de uma só vez. O único inconveniente que encontrei nesta paleta foi o tipo de embalagem, pois por mais que se tenha cuidado fica como vocês podem ver, muito suja.

The pallet has 10 blushes, 5 pink tones and 5 orange tones. All the colors are very pigmented and a little bit on a brush and softly spread it is enough to immediately notice it. As you can see the first tone is almost over because I use it almost every day. The orange tones I haven't used them a lot because I'm saving them for Summer, when I'm tanner, but the pink ones looked gorgeous on Winter, I actually mixed some sometimes. The only inconvenient I found on this pallet was the type of package, because even if we try hard not to ruin it, after a while it looks like that, very dirty.

Como já referi, a primeira cor é a que eu uso mais pois é um rosa alaranjado que fica muito bem no meu tom de pele. Esta cor tem um brilho perfeito em que não é necessário usar iluminador, ele próprio inclui um iluminado perfeito. As cores 2, 5, 6 e 8 são todas bastante fortes e costumo por vezes juntar uma delas com a número 1, ficando um rosa mais súbtil. As cores 3, 4, 7, 9 e 10 são todas alaranjadas, irão ficar perfeitas com o bronzeado no Verão. A número 3 e 10 são mais clarinhas, enquanto que todas as outras são bastante fortes. Em geral são todas muito pigmentadas como já referi, por isso um bocadinho já chega para dar muita cor às nossas bochechas.

As I mentioned before, the first color is the one I use the most because it's an orange pink that looks really good on my skin tone. This color has this perfect glow in which it's not necessary to add highlighter, it includes a perfect glow already. Colors 2, 5, 6 and 8 are all very strong and I usually mix one of them with the number 1, this way becoming a more subtle pink. Colors 3, 4, 7, 9 and 10 are all very orange, they will look perfect with a tan on Summer. Number 3 and 10 are lighter, while the other are all very strong. In general they are all very pigmented as I mentioned before, so a little bit is enough to give plenty of color to our cheekbones.

E estamos na reta final de mais uma semana! 

And we're at the final stretch of another week! 

E quem é que não cresceu a ver e ouvir as histórias de encantar da Disney? Todos nós temos boas recordações desses momentos, e hoje já somos adultos mas não é por isso que a Disney tem de deixar de fazer parte da nossa vida. 

And who didn’t grow up seeing and hearing Disney stories? We all have good memories from those times, and today we are adults but that doesn't mean that Disney has to stop being a part of our life. 

Para nós mulheres este lado encantado pode muito bem continuar a fazer parte do nosso dia-a-dia e de uma maneira bastante glamorosa. 

For us women this charming side may well continue to be part of our daily life and in a glamorous way. 

Já sabem do que é que eu estou a falar? Pois claro que é de maquilhagem! Mais especificamente, da nova linha de maquilhagem lançada pela MAC em parceria com a Disney. 

You already know what I'm talking about, right? Of course it's about makeup! More specifically, the new makeup line launched by MAC in partnership with Disney. 

Em Maio a Disney estreará o filme “Maleficente”. inspirado na vilã malévola da tão conhecida história de encantar “Bela Adormecida”.  

In May Disney is going to release the movie "Maleficent" inspired by the maleficent villain from the enchanted story "Sleeping Beauty". 

 

Para homenagear esta vilã, a MAC aliou-se uma vez mais à Disney e lançou uma nova colecção de maquilhagem. Uma inteira linha maléfica com tudo a que temos direito! 

To honor this villain, MAC has allied once again to Disney and launched a new makeup collection. An entire evil line with everything we deserve! 

Já há uns anos havia sido criada uma edição limitada resultante da parceria entre a MAC e a Disney. Nesta podiam ser encontrados vários produtos de maquilhagem dedicados às vilãs da Disney, o nome dado à colecção da época foi “Venenous Villains”. E agora já no próximo mês será lançada mais uma linha, mas desta vez única e exclusivamente dedicada à Malévola. 

A few years ago, a limited edition resulting from the partnership between MAC and Disney was created. In that we could find various makeup products dedicated to Disney villains, the name given to the collection of that season was "Venenous Villains". And now next month it will be released another line, but this time exclusively dedicated to Maleficent. 

A linha Maleficente conta com vários produtos de cada categoria. Todos eles inspirados na personagem da Disney, por isso, todos são em tons mais escuros, mas são lindos! 

The Maleficent line includes several products from each category. All of them inspired by the Disney character, so they all have darker shades, but they are beautiful!

Estas são as principais sombras da colecção. Em tons “dark”, com um efeito shimmer e muito glamorosas. Sombras entre o roxo e o verde, que através da sua textura mineral nos permitem fazer vários efeitos. 

These are the main eye shadows from the collection. In a "dark" tone with a shimmer and very glamorous effect. Shadows between the purple and the green, which through their mineral texture allow us to make several effects. 

Ainda na categoria das sombras temos um quarteto com as típicas sombras individuais da MAC (que nunca desapontam ninguém), mas em tons alusivos à personagem da Malévola. 

Still in the eye shadows we have a quartet with the typical individual MAC shadows (which never disappoint anyone), but in tones that are related to the Maleficent character. 

 

A perdição de muitas mulheres, os batons! Em tons que estão muito em voga, como o burgundy ou o roxo. Tons mais frios, mas igualmente lindos. E acho a embalagem encantadora! 

The ruin of many women, lipsticks! In tones that are very much in vogue, like the burgundy or the purple. Colder tones, but also beautiful. And I think the packaging is lovely! 

Claro que uma vilã que se prese tem que estar sempre no seu melhor! Por isso, a linha conta também com vários produtos faciais. Exemplo disso é este pó compacto. Uma versão maléfica do “best of” da marca. 

Of course a villain has to be always at her best! Therefore, the line also has several facial products. Like this compact powder. An evil version of the brand's "best of".

E sem descurar os pormenores, temos também uma gama de vernizes. Todos em tons que inspiram o mal. Não têm vontade de se tornarem vilãs só de olhar para estes fantásticos produtos? 

And without neglecting the details, we also have a range of nail polishes. All of them in shades that inspire maleficence. Don't you have the great desire of becoming a villain only by looking at these fantastic products? 

E porque “os olhos também comem”, as embalagens desta colecção são estrondosas! Com cores escuras e com a imagem da vilã da Disney. Adoro as embalagens, tanto as exteriores, como as dos produtos. 

Because "the eyes also eat", the packages in this collection are amazing! With dark colors and the image of the Disney villain. I love the packaging, the outside packaging and the product one. 

  

Como podem ver a nossa adorada marca de maquilhagem, a MAC, esmerou-se com esta nova colecção. Podemos contar com uma grande variedade de produtos, desde pó compacto, batons, gloss, contorno de lábios e até pestanas falsas. Tudo o que precisamos para nos tornarmos semelhantes à Malévola, mas sem a parte de vilã claro. 

As you can see our beloved makeup brand, MAC, did great with this new collection. We can count on with a wide variety of products, from compact powder, lipsticks, lip gloss, lip contour and even false eyelashes. All we need to be like the Maleficent, but without the villain part of course. 

Para Portugal a data de lançamento desta colecção ainda não está confirmada, mas tudo aponta para que seja a 14 de Junho. Até lá vamos esperar, depois podemos adquirir qualquer produto em todas as lojas oficiais da MAC.

Trend: Pastels everywhere

Embora o sol nos tenha deixado esta semana e a Primavera só volte daqui a uns dias (já estava a saber tão bem aquele sol lindo, não estava?), há algo que veio para ficar: os tons pastéis. Se por um lado adoro o Inverno, a Primavera é uma estação linda e este ano vai encher-se de cores docinhas e clarinhas que vão combinar tão bem com o sol e as flores que vão crescer. Preparem-se para um post muiiito docinho em que vão aprender a usar os tons pastéis da melhor forma!
Although the sun has left us this week and Spring is only back in a few days (that beautiful sun was feeling so good , right?), there is something that is here to stay: candy colors. If by one side I love Winter, Spring is a beautiful season and this year will be full of sweet and lighter colors that will pair so good with the sun and the flowers that will grow. Get ready for a veeeery sweet post in which you'll learn how to wear pastels the best way possible!

Os tons pastéis são mais concretamente cores que nos lembram doces como algodão-doce ou marshmallows. São cores claras, delicadas e lembram as décadas de 50 e 60 pela sua feminilidade.
Candy colors are more precisely the colors that remind us of cotton candy and marshmallows. They are lighter, delicate colors that remind us of the 50s and 60s by their femininity.

Esta estação as cores pastéis foram apresentadas nas passerelas em looks femininos, desportivos ou até mais roqueiros. Resumindo e concluindo, vamos poder usar cores pastéis em qualquer tipo de look. Mas como usar as candy colors?
This season candy colors were presented on the runways in feminine, sporty or even rocker looks. Concluding, we will be able to wear candy colors in any type of look. But how should we use candy colors?

Podem apostar num look total, em que toda a roupa tem a mesma cor pastel mas depois é acrescentado um acessório ou até os sapatos num outro tom que sobrassaia.
You can bet on a total look, in which all the clothes have the same candy color but then an accessory or the shoes are added in another color that stands out.

Por outro lado podem conjugar várias peças e cada uma com um tom pastel diferente. Neste caso têm de ter atenção redobrada para não parecerem um pequeno rebuçado andante, e mais uma vez os acessórios são muito importantes. Uma carteira ou uns sapatos num tom neutro irão ajudar a contrabalançar o look. 
On the other hand you can mix several pieces and each one with a different candy color. In this case you have to pay even more attention so you don't look like a little candy, and once again the accessories are very important. A wallet or shoes in a neutral color will help to balance the look.

Por fim podem também usar apenas uma peça de cor pastel e conjugá-la com cores sóbrias, como o preto, o castanho ou até a ganga. 
And finally you can also use one candy color piece and mix it with sober colors, like black, brown or even denim.

No caso de não quererem usar esse tom na roupa, podem sempre usar apenas acessórios de forma a dar cor a um look sóbrio. No entanto, os tons pastéis vão muito além de roupa. São encontrados em maquilhagem, vernizes, sapatos e muito mais. Esta Primavera vai ser um docinho!
If you don't want to use that tone in clothing, you can also use accessories by giving color to a sober look. However, candy colors are in so much more than clothes. They are found in makeup, nail polishes, shoes and so much more. This Spring will be such a sweet.

E estamos no início de mais uma semana, a primeira semana de Primavera, mas parece que esta já tirou férias.

And we are at the beginning of another week, the first week of Spring, but it seems that it has taken a vacation already. 

E hoje falaremos de pinceis! Já falámos aqui no blog sobre os vários tipos de pinceis e as suas funções. Mas hoje vamos falar mais especificamente das cerdas dos pinceis. Existem cerdas sintéticas e cerdas naturais e hoje desvendamos todas as diferenças e semelhanças entre elas.

And today we'll talk about brushes! We have talked on the blog about the various types of brushes and their functions. But today we'll talk more specifically about the bristles of the brushes. There are natural bristles and synthetic bristles and today we'll unveil all the differences and similarities between them.

A principal dica que todas as mulheres precisam de saber é que quanto mais macio o pincel for, menos ele concentra a cor e mais ele esfuma. Quanto mais duro e firme for o pincel, mais ele aplica a cor e menos ele esfuma. Esta é a primeira noção básica a ter sobre pinceis.

The main tip all women need to know is that the softer the brush is, less it focuses the color and more it spreads the color. The harder and firmer the brush is, the more it applies the color and less it spreads. This is the first basic notion about brushes.

As cerdas naturais são geralmente mais macias e maleáveis, enquanto as cerdas sintéticas são mais firmes e duras. Esta é a principal diferença entre os dois tipos de cerdas. E é também o que devemos ter em conta quando escolhemos qual o tipo de pincel usar.  

The natural bristles are generally soft and pliable, while synthetic bristles are firmer and rougher. This is the main difference between the two types of bristles. And it’s also what we must consider when we chose what type of brush to use.

  

Estes dois pinceis redondos (da imagem de cima) são pinceis de esfumar. O branco (primeiro na imagem) é o E25 da Sigma e o castanho (segundo na foto) é de um kit de pinceis sintéticos da Claire’s Cosmetics. 
These two round brushes (on the image above) are blending brushes. The white one (on the first picture) is the Sigma E25 and the brown (on the second photo) is from a synthetic brush kit by Claire's Cosmetics.

Como podem ver através da imagem, os pinceis sintéticos mantêm sempre a sua forma, com as cerdas sempre direitas e “arrumadas”, enquanto os pinceis naturais têm tendência a ficar mais “despenteados”, daí o seu toque ser mais suave. 

As you can see in the picture, synthetic brushes always keep their shape, with the bristles always right and "arranged", while natural brushes tend to be more "uncombed", hence their touch being softer.

Na imagem acima encontram-se dois pinceis de pó, completamente normais. O primeiro (pincel preto) é o F30 da Sigma e o segundo (pincel branco) é o pincel de pó da Fraulein38. Ambos são pinceis de pó normais, a única diferença é o tipo de cerdas e só por isso a diferença é visivelmente notória.  
In the picture above there are two powder brushes. The first one (the black brush) is the F30 from Sigma and the second one (the white brush) is the powder brush from Fraulein38. They are both normal powder brushes, the only difference is the type of the bristle and for that reason the difference is clearly noticeable.

Os pinceis de cerdas sintéticas absorvem menos os produtos de carácter líquido, enquanto que os naturais absorvem mais. Este é um dos motivos pelo qual a maioria dos pinceis de base é de cerdas sintéticas, pois assim desperdiçamos menos produto.

The brushes with synthetic bristles absorb less liquid products, while the natural absorb more. This is one of the reasons why most of the foundation brushes have synthetic bristles, that way we waste less product.

É verdade que a maioria aplica a base com um pincel “Duo Fiber”. E agora? Perguntam vocês. E é para vos esclarecer sobre isso que eu aqui estou. 

It’s true that the majority of us apply foundation with a "Duo Fiber" brush. And now what? You ask. And it’s to clarify you about these things that I'm here.

 

E aqui está o nosso amigo “Duo Fiber”, este é o F50 da Sigma. Como o próprio nome indica, este tipo de pinceis é constituído por dois tipos de cerdas. As fibras iniciais do pincel são pretas e naturais, como este é um pincel de base, e na ponta as fibras são brancas e de origem sintética. Assim o pincel fica mais firme e, como apenas as fibras brancas entram em contato com os produtos, acaba por absorver menos produto. As fibras pretas, de origem natural, não entram em contacto directo com o produto, mas têm uma finalidade. Essas fibras servem para espalhar melhor a base, suavizando a cobertura desta e as linhas, deixando assim a pele com um aspeto mais natural.

And here is our "Duo Fiber" friend, this is the F50 from Sigma. As the name implies, this type of brushes has two types of bristles. The initial fibers of the brush are black and natural, as this is a foundation brush, and the tip fibers are white and synthetic. This way the brush is firmer and, because only the white fibers get in contact with the products, it ends up absorbing less product. The black fibers of natural origin don’t get in direct contact with the product, but they have a purpose. These fibers are great to further spread the foundation, smoothing the coverage of this and the lines, leaving the skin with a more natural look.

Os pinceis sintéticos são geralmente mais lisos, com as fibras brilhantes e muito raramente perdem a sua forma original. Os pinceis naturais são mais “soltos” e ao longo do tempo podem perder a sua forma original, por isso temos de ter cuidados especiais quando os limpamos.  
Synthetic brushes are generally flat, with bright fibers and they rarely lose their original shape. Natural brushes are more "loose" and over time they can lose their original form, so we have to take special care when we clean them.

  

É verdade que a maioria dos pinceis naturais têm as fibras da cor natural do pêlo do animal, mas também podem ter cerdas coloridas apesar de ser mais normal encontrar pinceis sintéticos com cerdas coloridas. 

It is true that most natural fiber brushes have the natural color of the hair of the animal, but they can also have colored bristles, although it’s more usual to find synthetic brushes with colored bristles.

Agora em jeito de conclusão deixo-vos uma tabela que é bastante esclarecedora. Aqui estão as principais diferenças entre os pinceis sintéticos e os pinceis naturais.
