An amazing last day in Rome: day IV

Buongiorno!

Chegámos ao último dia da minha viagem a Roma. E se o dia anterior foi chuvoso e não deu para tirar muitas fotografias ao que eu tinha vestido, o último dia da nossa viagem foi abençoado com um sol lindo mas algum frio (os meus dias preferidos). Foi um dia um pouco mais afastado do centro da cidade em que fomos até ao Pincio (no norte de Roma), onde a burguesia ia passar férias antigamente, e às antigas termas (no sul de Roma), onde a Burguesia se ia banhar. Foi um dia muito verde mas absolutamente fantástico para terminar a viagem.

And we have reached the end of my trip to Rome. And if the previous day was rainy and we didn't take a lot of photos to what I was wearing, the last day of our trip was blessed with a beautiful sun but some cold (my favorite kind of days). It was a day away from the center of the city in which we went to Pincio (on the north of Rome), where the middle class used to spend their holidays in the past, and to the thermal baths (on the south of Rome), where the middle class used to bathe. It was a very green day but absolutely amazing to finish the trip.

Para percorrer a cidade mais uma vez, escolhi as minhas botas Timberland. Mais confortável não há! Escolhi uma camisa simples preta e levei mais uma vez o meu casaco verde tropa, e como estava bastante frio este manteve-se fechado a maior parte do dia. A minha mochila não podia faltar claro, nem levei mais nenhuma mala porque já sabia que iria ser assim e juntei a isto tudo umas calças de ganga clara, uma das minhas recentes aquisições da nova colecção da Stradivarius, que estou a adorar! Como podem ver, tentei durante toda a viagem aliar o conforto à moda, com peças simples e básicas que ficam sempre bem e que dão para fazer vários outfits. Quando se é vaidosa, é-se sempre vaidosa.

To go around the city once again, I chose my Timberland boots. There is nothing more comfortable! I chose a simple black blouse and I wore once again my green jacket, and because it was so cold I kept it closed almost the entire day. My backpack had to go too, I didn't even bring another bag because I knew it would be like that and I added to all that some light blue jeans, one of my most recent purchases from the new Stradivarius collection, that I'm loving! As you can see, I tried during the entire trip to ally comfort to fashion, with simple and basic pieces that always look good and with which I can make several outfits. Once a vain, always a vain.

Pincio & Villa Borghese

Pessoas a correr, a passear, a andar de bicicleta ou simplesmente deitadas na relva a apanhar sol e a ler. O Pincio e a Villa Borghese são dois locais perfeitos, muito bem tratados, longe da confusão dos carros e das multidões em que se pode realmente sentir a natureza e descansar. Um dos locais mais bonitos que vi em toda a cidade. Por mim tinha ficado lá o dia todo, senti-me mesmo muito bem lá. E claro que é o sítio perfeito para dois turistas namorarem.

People running, walking, riding bikes or simply laid down on the grass sunbathing or reading. Pincio and Villa Borghese are two perfect places, well treated, away from the car's confusion and the movement of the crowds in which you can really feel the nature and rest. One of the most beautiful places that I saw in the entire city. For me I would have stay there the entire day, I really felt good in there. And of course it's the perfect place for two tourists to date.

As termas di Caracalla foram uma surpresa. Não tinha grande ideia de como fossem as termas. Nunca pensei eu que fossem ruínas de um tamanho tão grande e que fosse tão interessante andar pelo meio delas a imaginar como seria há séculos atrás tomar banho e relaxar naquelas piscinas enormes. Os restos de azulejo no chão e alguns pedaços de parede que ainda restam daquele tempo tornam ainda mais fácil perceber como eram as termas. E todo aquele terreno verde à volta, tão bem tratado e tão bonito foi a cereja no topo do bolo. 

The thermal baths were a surprise. I didn't have idea of how they would look like. I never thought it would be everything full of enormous ruins and that it would be so interesting to walk in the middle of them imagining how it was to take a bath and relax in those enormous pools so many centuries ago. The rest of the mosaics on the floors and some pieces of the walls that are still there from that time make it even easier to understand how the thermal baths were. And all that green field around it, so well treated and so beautiful was the cherry on top of the cake.

E porque ir viajar não seria igual sem o meu amor, deixo-vos aqui algumas das milhares de selfies que tirámos ao longo da viagem. Só ao ver as fotos é que me apercebi que a moda das selfies nos atacou com toda a força, seja com o telemóvel ou com a máquina fotográfica ahah.

And because traveling without my baby is not the same, I leave you here some of the great amount of selfies we took along the trip. Only by seeing the photos I realized that the selfies trend really hit us hard, whether it's with the mobile phone or with the photo machine ahah. 

E assim foi a minha viagem por Roma. Como podem ver em 4 dias vimos Roma quase toda e tudo bastante ao pormenor. A cidade é linda e o que é estranho primeiro estranha-se e depois entranha-se! Vocês já sabem a minha admiração por Paris e essa será sempre a cidade com que me identifico mais, mas descobrir Roma foi delicioso e espero lá voltar um dia!

And that was my trip to Rome. As you can see in 4 days we were able to see almost everything in Rome and everything in detail. The city is beautiful and what's weird at first you then get used to it. You already know my admiration for Paris and that will always be the city with which I identify myself the most, but to discover Rome was delicious and I hope I can go back there one day!
