Hello everyone!

Como está a correr esse fim-de-semana? Muita chuva eu sei, mas pensem no lado bom: podem tirar as botas e os botins do armário eheh. Como tinha referido no facebook do blog (não se esqueçam de colocar gosto para seguirem) na sexta-feira fui ver O Mordomo, e como já estava à espera, o filme é EXCELENTE. Junta nomes conhecidissimos e actores muito bons, entre eles Cuba Gooding Jr., Forest Whitaker, James Marsden, Jane Fonda, John Cusack, Robin Williams, Lenny Kravitz, Vanessa Redgrave e Oprah Winfrey claro. O filme conta ainda com a pequena mas importante participação de Mariah Carey. A banda sonora do filme ficou a cargo do português Rodrigo Leão. Além de toda a história ser bastante interessante, o elenco é excepcional e é um filme que recomendo sem dúvida.
How's your weekend going? Raining a lot I know, but think about the good side: you can remove your boots and your ankle boots from the closet eheh. As I mentioned in the blog's facebook (don't forget to put a like to follow it) Friday I went to see The Butler, and as I expected, the movie is AMAZING. It joins well known names and very good actors, among them Cuba Gooding Jr., Forest Whitaker, James Marsden, Jane Fonda, John Cusack, Robin Williams, Lenny Kravitz, Vanessa Redgrave and Oprah Winfrey of course. The movie has the small participation of Mariah Carey, but still it's a very important role. The soundtrack was on charge of the portuguese Rodrigo Leão. Besides the entire story being very interesting, the plot is exceptional and it's definitely a movie I recommend.

 

  O filme é baseado em factos verídicos e conta a história de um mordomo negro (Cecil Gaines) que serviu 8 presidentes na Casa Branca, durante o período de 1952 e 1986. O filme traça todas as mudanças dramáticas que ocorreram durante esses anos, incluindo o movimento pelos Direitos Civis até à Guerra do Vietname, tendo estes acontecimentos marcado toda a família de Cecil.
The movie is based in true facts and tells the story of a black butler (Cecil Gaines) that served 8 Presidents at the White House, during the period of 1952 and 1986. The movie draws all the dramatic changes that happened during these years, including the movement for the Civil Rights until the Vietnam War. These events had changed the entire Cecil's family.

Como sabem e têm visto, tenho andado há algum tempo a dar importância às tendências desta estação que começou, pois acho que este Outono/Inverno tem algumas das tendências mais interessantes. Desde o rosa pálido (de que falei aqui), até ao azul eléctrico, que é uma cor que eu adoro. Hoje venho então falar-vos de outra tendência que acho muito interessante: o xadrez. As lojas estão cheias de roupa com este padrão, as it-girls também já andam a usar e abusar e eu mesma ando à procura da camisa de xadrez perfeita.
As you know and you have seen, I've been paying attention for a long time to this season trends, because I think that this Fall/Winter has some of the most interesting trends. Since pale pink (that I talked about here), until the electric blue, which is a color that I love. Today I come to talk about another trend that I find very interesting: checked. The stores are full of clothes with this print, the it-girls are using it a lot and I am too looking for the perfect checked blouse. 

Este padrão, seja em preto e branco, vermelho, azul, bege ou castanho, surgiu em peças de fazenda, blazers, saias, calças e camisas. As peças surgem em cortes modernos e irreverentes e podem ser usadas tanto com peças mais clássicas e simples, como com diferentes padrões para um look mais arrojado. Só têm de usar a imaginação para conciliar este padrão e criarem um look super arrojado e moderno!
This trend, whether it's in black or white, blue, red, beige or brown, came up in cloth pieces, blazers, skirts, pants and blouses. The pieces came up in modern and bold cuts, and can be used with classier and simple pieces, and with different prints to go for a bolder look. You only have to use your imagination to conciliate this print and create a super bold and modern look!

RE-FOOD 100% Lisbon

Como foi a vossa semana? Estão a gostar da rubrica da Joana e dos vídeos que preparámos para vocês? Espero que sim, não se esqueçam de ver o último aqui. Há uns dias recebi uma proposta muito entusiasmante e já estou ansiosa para vos contar, mas mais tarde conto-vos tudo, eu prometo! :)

Hoje venho falar-vos de algo um pouco diferente mas que acho sempre importante, ainda por cima com todos os problemas financeiros que o país atravessa. O projecto RE-FOOD começou agora a sua segunda fase - Lisboa 100% e hoje decidi vir falar-vos em que consiste este projecto e como todos podemos ajudar.
Today I come to talk about something a little bit different but I think it's always important, with all the financial  problems that the country has right now. RE-FOOD project started now its second phase - 100% Lisbon and today I decided to tell you in what consists this project and how we all can help.

Re-food é um esforço eco-humanitário (100% voluntário, efectuado por cidadãos e para cidadãos) que pretende acabar com o desperdício de alimentos preparados e com a insuficiência alimentar, aumentando a solidariedade comunitária em todos os bairros urbanos. O Lisboa 100% em específico tem o objectivo de estender os benefícios do projecto por toda a cidade de Lisboa.
Re-food is an Eco-humanitarian effort (100% voluntary, accomplished by citizens for the citizens) that pretends to finish prepared food waste and with the lack of food, improving communitarian solidarity in all urban neighborhoods. 100% Lisbon in specific has the goal to extend its benefits all over the city of Lisbon.

• Nos primeiros dois anos de resgate de comida, uma refeição transformou-se em 100.000 e um voluntário multiplicou-se por centenas.
• Numa área de 2km quadrados, 400 voluntários resgatam 500 refeições por dia de 111 parceiros de restauração, depois distribuindo-as a quem precisa.
• Desde o verão de 2013 3 núcleos estiveram em pleno funcionamento e as metas foram atingidas. Até ao final de 2013 e no início de 2014, 7 novos núcleos irão abrir.
• In the first two years of food rescue, a meal became 100.000 meals and a volunteer was multiplied by hundreds.
• In a 2 square km area, 400 volunteers rescued 500 meals by day from 111 restaurant partners, then distributing them to someone in need.
• Since Summer 2013 3 nucleus were fully working and the goals were reached. Until the end of 2013 and the beginning of 2014, 7 new nucleus will open.

How can we participate in the project?

Através de e-mail o voluntário pode contactar a equipa de trabalho da sua zona, ou pode visitar o facebook aqui. O voluntário iria ajudar durante 2 horas por semana e iria produzir imediatamente dez refeições. Deixo-vos então os contactos para cada zona de Lisboa, para se estiverem interessados.
 Through e-mail the volunteer can contact the work team of his area of residence, or he can visit the facebook here. The volunteer would help for 2 hours and would produce immediately ten meals, I leave you down below the e-mails for each Lisbon area, in case you're interested.

Um óptimo projecto não é? Acho tão bom existir quem se lembre de criar projectos como estes, visto que existe tanta gente a morrer à fome por Lisboa. Se estiverem interessados em fazer voluntariado esta seria uma boa opção, não se esqueçam que além de estarem a ajudar os outros, estão a enriquecer-se pessoalmente. 

A great project right? I think it's so good that someone creates projects like these, since there are so much people starving around Lisbon. If you're interested in volunteering this would be a good choice, don't forget that besides being helping others, you're personally making yourselves richer.

Sleek Makeup palettes by Joana Pedro

Hello again lovelies! 

Hoje vou falar-vos de sombras, mas não são umas sombras quaisquer, são das paletas da Sleek, marca que em Portugal só se encontra à venda na Sephora.

A Sleek tem um variado leque de paletas, cada uma tem um tema com sombras a condizer e são “baptizadas” com nomes bastante originais. Vou falar-vos de algumas delas. 

Today I’ll tell you about eye shadows, but not any eye shadows, the ones from the Sleek palettes. In Portugal that brand is only sell at Sephora. 

Sleek has a wide range of palettes, each one has a theme with matching eye shadows and are "baptized" with names quite unique. I will talk about some of them. 

As fabulosas paletas i-Divine da Sleek MakeUp são constituídas por 12 sombras de tons diferentes. As sombras são de grande qualidade, óptima pigmentação mesmo sem primer, adequando-se assim a todos os tipos de pele. A Sleek diz que existe uma paleta i-Divine para cada mulher, pois têm variadíssimas combinações, desde as mais simples às mais arrojadas, agradando assim a um maior número de mulheres.  

The fabulous i-Divine palettes from Sleek MakeUp consist on 12 different colors of eye shadows. The shadows have great quality, great pigmentation even without primer and is thus suitable for all skin types. Sleek says that there is an i-Divine palette for every woman, because they have an extensive range of combinations, from the simplest to the most daring, pleasing to a higher number of women.

Vou agora mostrar-vos algumas da minhas paletas preferidas da Sleek.

I’ll now show you some of my favorite palettes by Sleek.

 

Começamos com algo mais básico, uma paleta com tons naturais, algo que qualquer mulher tem que ter. Esta paleta chama-se “Au Naturel”, pois tem tons que podem ser usados para um look mais natural e limpo. Contém também alguns tons mais fortes, para que com uma só paleta se possa transformar um look simples num look mais arrojado.

We start with something more basic, a palette of natural tones, something that every woman must have. This palette is called "Au Naturel”, it has tones that can be used for a more natural and clean look. It contains also some stronger tones, so that with just one palette we can transform a simple look into a bolder look.

 
 

 

A próxima paleta é uma das minhas preferidas, chama-se “Oh So Special”. Tal como o nome indica, esta contém sombras que podemos utilizar em momentos mais especiais, contendo ao mesmo tempo alguns tons neutros.

The next palette is one of my favorites, which is called "Oh So Special". As the name implies, this one contains eye shadows that we can use in the most special moments, while containing some neutral tones also.

E porque já estamos na época do Outono, gostamos de fazer uma maquilhagem com tons um pouco mais quentes e tons terra. Algo a que esta época nos inspira. Esta paleta é ideal para isso, com tons quentes e terra, podendo combinar um look simples ou algo mais arrojado. Pelos seus tons, foi apelidada de “Sunset”.

And because we are already in Autumn, we like to make a makeup with tones a little more warm and earthy. We get inspired by this season. This palette is perfect for that, with warm tones and earth tones, we can combine a simple look or something more daring. Because of its tones it was nicknamed as "Sunset".

Mas como nós mulheres não vivemos apenas da simplicidade, a pensar nas mulheres mais arrojadas, a Sleek lançou uma paleta com tons mais fortes e escuros. Ideal para quem gosta de um look dramático no dia-a-dia ou até mesmo para as nossas saídas. Esta paleta chama-se “Bad Girl”, porque por vezes até a mulher mais simples gosta de ter o seu momento de “rebeldia”, nem que seja na maquilhagem.

But as we women don't live just with the simplicity, thinking about the most daring women, Sleek launched a palette with stronger and darker shadows. Ideal for those who like a dramatic look on day-to-day or even to our parties. This palette is called "Bad Girl", because sometimes even the simplest woman likes to have her moment of "rebellion", even in the makeup area.

Deixando o clássico e arrojado de lado, passamos agora ao divertido!

Sim, porque em parte a maquilhagem também é isso, diversão. Algo em que podemos brincar com as cores e formar imensas combinações. A pensar nas mais alegres e divertidas temos a paleta “Acid”. Com cores fortes e mais extravagantes, para as que não querem mesmo ser aborrecidas, esta é uma opção.

Leaving the classic and dashing aside, we now move to the fun part!

Yes, because makeup is also fun. Something in what we can play with color and form a vast number of combinations. Thinking about the most joyous and fun we have the palette "Acid". With bolder and fancier colors, for those who don’t ever want to be boring, this is an option.

Esta gama i-Divine da Sleek MakeUp é apenas uma pequena parte dos produtos da marca. No que diz respeito a sombras, optaram por este prático formato de paletas, o que nos dá muito mais jeito para transportar.

As sombras são de boa qualidade, mas o melhor é mesmo o preço. Pois é meninas, estas paletas custam apenas 10€ cada, sem estar em saldos. Podem encontrar os produtos da marca Sleek em qualquer loja Sephora.
This range i-Divine by Sleek MakeUp is only a small part of the brand's products. Regarding the eye shadows, the brand chose this handy format, which is much better to transport.

The shadows have a great quality, but the best is really the price. Well girls, these palettes cost only 10€ each, without being at sale. You can find the Sleek products in any Sephora store.
