2013 FAIL makeup products by Joana Pedro

Esta semana demos por terminada a “sessão” de preferidos do ano de 2013, mas continuamos numa de reflexão do ano anterior. Hoje vamos falar dos produtos que falharam, ou seja, dos meus preteridos de 2013. 

This week we put an end to the “session” of 2013 favorites, but we are still reflecting about the previous year. Today we’ll talk about the products that failed, my unsuccessful products from 2013.

 

O primeiro produto foi algo que quis experimentar pois via imensas reviews positivas e imensas bloggers e youtubers falarem amores dele. É o primer facial PoreFessional da Benefit. Eu pessoalmente não gostei. Deixou-me a pele imensamente oleosa, algo que só consegui controlar lavando o rosto com o meu gel de limpeza. Não sei se é devido ao meu tipo de pele, mas comigo não funcionou de todo.
The first product was something that I really wanted to try because I saw a lot of positive reviews from various youtubers and bloggers that loved it. It’s the face primer by Benefit, The PoreFessional. I personally didn’t like it. It let my skin so oily, something that I could only control washing my face with my cleansing gel. I don’t know if it's due to my skin type, but it didn’t work with me at all.

 

O próximo preterido está no topo da lista dos melhores primers de olhos. É o tão conhecido Eyeshadow Primer Potion da Urban Decay. Tinha grandes expectativas quanto a este produto, pois é super bem falado no mundo da maquilhagem. Mas nas minhas pálpebras dura apenas minutos, as sombras não ficam intactas durante muito tempo e parece que ajuda a reproduzir oleosidade na minha pálpebra. Para mim acho que este pequeno primer não vale mesmo o seu preço. 

The next fail is on the top of the best eye primers list. It’s known as the Eyeshadow Primer Potion by Urban Decay. I had great expectations about this product because it’s very well spoken in the makeup world. But in my eyelids it only lasts a few minutes, the shadows don't stay intact for a long time and it seems that it helps to reproduce oiliness on my eyelid. For me I think this little primer is not really worth its price.

 

O produto seguinte é o primeiro BB Cream lançado pela Garnier. Meninas com pele oleosa ou com tendência acneica risquem este produto da vossa lista de compras. Para o utilizar só com uma boa camada de pó em cima, porque apenas o BB Cream na pele não funciona, é brilho por todo o lado! Eu pessoalmente gosto bastante dos produtos desta marca e este desiludiu-me um pouco. Talvez por ser o primeiro lançamento deles, mas a verdade é que não resulta nada bem. 

The next product is the first BB Cream launched by Garnier. Girls with oily or acne-prone skin scratch this product from your shopping list. To use it only with a good layer of powder on top of it, because only the BB Cream on the skin doesn’t work, you have shine all over the place! I personally like the products from this brand and this one disappointed me a little. Maybe because is the first, but the truth is that it doesn't work really well.

 

O preterido seguinte não está propriamente no top da lista dos falhados, mas também não é um dos meus adorados. É a base clássica da NARS. Confesso que a minha não é exactamente o meu tom de pele, mas a qualidade nada tem a ver com esse facto. É uma base com uma cobertura baixa a média, o problema é que não dura muito tempo na pele e ao longo do dia temos de ir retocando a base ou ir aplicando um pouco de pó. Tirando estas pequenas chatices até é um produto aceitável. 

The following fail product is not exactly on the top of my list of failures, but it isn't one of my beloved products as well. It's the classic foundation by NARS. I confess that mine isn’t exactly my skin tone, but the quality has nothing to do with that. It’s a foundation with a low to medium coverage, the problem is that it doesn’t last long on the skin and throughout the day we have to retouch the foundation or apply a little powder. Besides these small annoyances, it's an acceptable product.

 

Este sim está no topo da lista dos meus preteridos! É o rímel Falsies Waterproof da Maybelline. Já devem ter reparado que entre mim e a Maybelline existe uma grande paixão, mas com este produto não há qualquer “relação” possível e eu juro que tentei gostar dele, até por amor à marca, mas não deu mesmo. A versão regular deste produto é bastante boa, mas quando experimentamos a versão à prova d’água, a coisa começa a ficar feia. Ele realmente é à prova d’água, mas é também à prova de desmaquilhante. Deixa as pestanas lindas e com aquele efeito de que estamos a usar pestanas postiças, mas quando começa a secar as pestanas começam-se a colar umas às outras e é uma sensação horrível. Tal como para remover, demora séculos e custa imenso a sair! 

This is definitely on the top of my list of fail products! It's the Falsies Waterproof mascara by Maybelline. You must have noticed that between me and Maybelline there is a great passion, but with this product there is no "relationship" possible and I can swear I tried to like it, for the love I have for the brand, but it didn’t work. The regular version of this product is very good, but when you try the waterproof version, it starts to get ugly. It really is waterproof, but it’s also cleanser proof. It leaves the eyelashes beautiful and with that appearance that we are using false lashes, but when it begins to dry the eyelashes begin to stick to each other and it's a horrible feeling. The same thing when removing, it takes ages and takes a lot to come out!

  

E o último preterido é um desmaquilhante. Algo para que andei a economizar, pois esta marca é um pouco dispendiosa e eu queria tanto experimentá-lo! Pois bem, mais uma desilusão. É o creme desmaquilhante Take It Away da Estée Lauder. Supostamente um desmaquilhante para todo o rosto e especial para olhos sensíveis. A sério?! Quando chegamos à etapa de desmaquilhar os olhos começa a tortura. Arde imenso, temos de esfregar para que a maquilhagem saia e ficamos sem uma “catrefada” de pestanas. Meus queridos olhos “sensíveis” (se é que me entendem). Esperava tanto deste produto e em troco levei tão pouco.

And the last is a fail cleanser. Something that I've been saving for, because this brand is a bit expensive and I wanted to try it so much! Well, another disappointment. It’s the Take It Away cleanser cream by Estée Lauder. It's suppose to be a makeup remover for the entire face and especially for sensitive eyes. Really?! When we reach the stage of removing the makeup from the eyes the torture begins. It burns a lot, we have to rub the skin so the makeup disappears and we loose a "mount" of eyelashes. My dear "sensitive" eyes (if you know what I mean). I expected so much from this product and I took so little in return.
