Movie time!

Como está a ser o vosso Domingo? Amanhã já temos novidades aqui no blog, o blog vai ter um aspecto completamente diferente e vai mudar de nome. Espero muito que vocês gostem! E como podem ver algumas coisas já foram mudando, incluindo o nome desta rubrica.

How's your Sunday going? Tomorrow we'll have news here on the blog, the blog will have a total different look and will have a different name. I really hope you guys like it! And as you can see some things have been changing already, including this rubric's name.

Mas agora vamos falar dos filmes que eu vi esta semana. Nesta altura dos Globos de Ouro e dos Óscares fico sempre com imensa curiosidade em ver os filmes que estão nomeados. E foi por isso que esta semana decidi ver o 12 anos escravo. É um filme muito interessante que mostra realidades muito chocantes e que se verificaram há muitos anos atrás, mas que ainda hoje existem: racismo e escravatura. Achei o filme muito grande mas sem dúvida que merece ser visto, nem que seja pelo espectacular elenco e por ser baseado numa história verídica! E depois estava cheia de vontade de ver o Frozen e finalmente o fiz. Fiquei completamente apaixonada pelo filme e já estou com vontade de o ver novamente, a Disney continua a surpreender-me quando eu penso que tal já não é possível.

But now let's talk about the movies I saw this week. At this time of Golden Globes and Oscars I always get so much curiosity to see the movies that are nominated. And that's why this week I decided to see the 12 Years a Slave. It's a very interesting movie that shows very shocking realities that were seen many years ago, but that today still exist: racism and slavery. I thought the movie was very long but deserves to be seen without a doubt, even if only because of the amazing plot and because it's based on a real life story! And then I wanted so bad to see Frozen and I finally saw it. I was completely in love by the movie and I want to see it again already, Disney continues to surprise me when I think that such is not possible anymore.

 

Solomon Northup (Chiwetel Ejiofor) é um homem negro livre, que durante a pré-Guerra Civil dos Estados Unidos é raptado e vendido como escravo.  Ele vai ter de enfrentar momentos de imensa crueldade mas também alguns momentos de inesperada bondade. Solomon terá de lutar para se manter vivo e para preservar a sua dignidade e voltar a ser um homem livre. Após 12 anos de uma história inesquecível, Solomon conhece um abolicionista do Canadá (Brad Pitt) e é o mesmo que vai mudar a sua vida para sempre.
Solomon Northup (Chiwetel Ejiofor) is a free black man who during the pre - Civil War in the USA is kidnapped and sold as a slave. He is going to face moments of intense cruelty but also some moments of unexpected kindness. Solomon will have to fight to stay alive and to preserve his dignity and be a free man again. After 12 years of an unforgettable experience, Solomon knows an abolitionist from Canada (Brad Pitt) and he is the one who will change his life forever.

Anna junta-se a Kristoff e à sua rena Sven numa jornada épica para encontrar Elsa, a irmã de Anna, que com os seus poderes gelados aprisonou sem querer o reino de Arendelle num Inverno eterno. Eles terão de enfrentar todas as condições próprias do Evereste, trolls e ainda um boneco de neve hilariante, o Olaf. Uma aventura divertida em que no fim o amor terá de triunfar.

Anna will join Kristoff and his reindeer Sven in an epic journey to find Elsa, Anna's sister, who imprisoned the kingdom of Arendelle in an eternal Winter with her frosty powers. They will have to face all the condition proper of Everest, trolls and an hilarious snowman, Olaf. A fun adventure in which in the end love will have to prevail.
