Makeup journey: lips by Joana Pedro

Espero que a semana vos esteja a correr bem, mas já estamos no fim dela e consequentemente também chegamos ao fim da nossa jornada de maquilhagem. O último capítulo tem como tema os lábios.

I hope the week is going well, but we are already at the end of the week and consequently we reach the end of our makeup journey. The last chapter is about lips.

Toda a mulher gosta de ter uns lábios poderosos! Bonitos, bem cuidados e volumosos. Existem imensas dicas e truques para conseguir isso, mas a chave de tudo é a hidratação. Devemos sempre ter os nossos lábios bem hidratados, pois assim eles sofrem menos com as agressões da temperatura e ficam mais bonitos.

Every woman likes to have powerful lips! Beautiful, well maintained and bulky. There are plenty of tips and tricks to achieve this, but the key of everything is hydration. We must always keep our lips well hydrated, because then they suffer less from the aggressions of temperature and they look nicer.

Antes de aplicarem qualquer tipo de maquilhagem nos lábios devem sempre utilizar um hidratante labial. Pode ser qualquer um, isso fica ao vosso gosto. Assim, os vossos lábios ficarão hidratados e com uma “camada” protectora.

Before applying any type of makeup in the lips you must always use a lip moisturizer. It can be the one you want, that depends on what you like. Thus, your lips will stay hydrated and with a protective "layer".

O próximo passo da maquilhagem é delinear os lábios. Vou explicar-vos uma táctica muito simples e bastante prática.

The next makeup step is to outline the lips. I’ll explain to you a very simple and practical tactic.

A maioria de nós salta este passo, mas é algo bastante importante. Para facilitar a nossa vida, devemos começar por desenhar um “x”, dois traços simples e curtos no “v” dos lábios. Isto facilitará para que tenhamos referência do ponto onde vamos começar a delinear, para definir a curva e não errarmos a simetria dos lábios. É um truque tão simples e tão útil!

Most of us jump this step, but it’s something very important. To make our life easier, we must first draw an "x", two simple and short lines in the "v" of the lips. This makes it easier for us to have a reference point where we begin to outline, to define the curve and not make a mistake on the symmetry of the lips. It's a simple and useful trick!

  

A partir do nosso “x” é apenas delinear o resto dos lábios e preenchê-los com o mesmo produto que usaram para delinear. Como podem ver na imagem é algo bastante fácil e que faz uma grande diferença.

From our "x" we just have to outline the rest of the lips and fill them with the same product used to delineate. As you can see in the picture it is very easy and it makes a big difference.

 

É claro que devemos usar um lápis para delinear os lábios o mais semelhante possível ao batôm que iremos aplicar. O lápis ajuda a que o batôm fixe melhor aos lábios, durando assim mais tempo.

Of course we must use a pencil to outline our lips as similar as possible to the lipstick that we will apply. The pencil helps to secure the lipstick, thus making it last longer.

O passo seguinte é aplicarmos o batôm, e podem escolher a cor que mais gostarem.

The next step is to apply the lipstick and you can choose the color that you like the most.

A primeira camada devemos sempre aplicar o batôm com um pincel. Assim obtemos um resultado mais preciso e fazemos com que o produto se fixe melhor à pele.

The first layer we must always apply the lipstick with a brush. Thus, we get a more accurate result and we make the product last longer.

De seguida voltam a dar uma segunda camada, mas desta vez com o stick do batôm directamente nos lábios. Assim faremos com que a cor seja mais vibrante.

Then we give a second layer, but this time with the stick of the lipstick directly on the lips. That way we'll make sure the color is more vibrant.

Mas a maioria de nós gosta de ter uns lábios com um acabamento brilhante e bonito. Por isso o próximo passo é aplicar um gloss, na cor o mais semelhante possível ao batôm que aplicámos anteriormente. O gloss não vai só dar um aspeto brilhante e bonito, mas vai também ajudar a dar uma noção de volume e parecer que temos os lábios maiores e mais carnudos.

But most of us like to have the lips with a glossy and beautiful finish. Therefore, the next step is to apply a gloss, with a color as similar as possible to the one that we applied before. The gloss will not only give a bright and beautiful aspect, but it will also help give a sense of volume and it will appear that we have bigger and meatier lips.

O passo seguinte é limpar o batôm que ficou de fora da linha dos lábios, ou por outras palavras tirarmos o batom que borrámos.

The next step is to clean the lipstick that is outside the lip line, or in other words we remove the lipstick that we daub.

Para isso vamos utilizar o corrector, é verdade! Com a ajuda de um cotonete ou até mesmo do aplicador de corrector (se este tiver) aplicamos o produto por cima do batôm que ficou de fora da linha dos lábios e esbatemos um pouco. Assim a nossa pele continuará perfeita e os nossos lábios impecáveis.

To do this we use the concealer, that's right! With the help of a cotton swab or even concealer (if it has one), we apply the product over the lipstick that stayed out of the lip line and we smoke it a little bit. So that way we continue with a perfect skin and our lips stay fabulous.

Claro que, tal como tudo na vida, os acidentes acontecem. E até mesmo às celebridades.

Of course, like everything in life, accidents happen. And even to celebrities.

Já vos aconteceu andarem na rua com batôm nos dentes? É algo que nenhuma de nós gosta! E fica tão feio. Isto acontece porque temos excesso de batôm, principalmente concentrado na extremidade interna dos lábios e então acabamos por sujar os dentes.

Did already happened to you walk in the street with lipstick on your teeth? It is something that none of us like! And it’s so ugly. This happens because we have too much lipstick, mainly concentrated in the inner edge of the lips, so we end up fouling our teeth.

   

Mas existem alguns truques para evitarmos que isto aconteça.

But there are some tricks to avoid this from happening.

Um deles é utilizar um guardanapo ou lenço de papel para retirar o excesso de batôm na parte interna dos lábios. Basta abrirmos bem a boca e vincar o lenço com os lábios e assim o excesso de produto fica no papel.

One of them is to use a napkin or a tissue to remove the excess of lipstick on the inside of the lips. Just open up the mouth and crease the tissue with the lips, in order to the excess of product stay on the paper.

E no fim de todo este processo, ficamos com uns lábios bonitos e perfeitos e com um batôm que durará durante mais tempo do que o normal, pois seguimos todos os passos. Agora é só escolher a cor e meter tudo em prática!

And at the end of this process, we get beautiful and perfect lips and with a lipstick that lasts longer than normal, because we followed all the steps. Now just choose the color and put everything in practice!

O produto seguinte é um dos meus mais recentes “bebés”. Confesso que não gosto muito de utilizar gloss, mas este mudou completamente a minha opinião. Apresento-vos o Velvetine da Lime Crime. Este é um gloss que aparentemente é completamente normal, mas não! É um gloss mate, pois é meninas, fica lindo! E há imensas cores. 

The next product is one of my latest "babies". I confess that I don’t like to use gloss, but this one  has completely changed my opinion. I present to you the Velvetine by Lime Crime. This is a gloss which apparently is quite normal, but it isn’t! It’s a matte gloss, yes girls, and it looks great! And there are lots of colors.

  

O último produto é o Glam Shine da L’Oreal. Este é um batôm bastante cremoso, mas que dura imenso nos lábios. Tem uma fragância muito agradável, o que ajuda na sua aplicação. Esta gama encontra-se disponível em variadíssimas cores. O meu é um rosa forte, o Trendy Rose, adoro-o!

The last product is the Glam Shine by L’Oreal. This lipstick is very creamy but it lasts a long time in the lips. It has a very pleasant fragrance, which helps in its implementation. This range is available in several colors. Mine is a deep pink, Trendy Rose, and I love it!
